I was a very creative kid, always doing art projects and building things with Legos. In college, I reflected upon what I really liked as a kid, and decided to pursue architecture.

Some of the greatest buildings are difficult to describe, as the impact goes beyond the actual building. You can never fully predict the outcome of the built environment you are creating. Look at the Eiffel tower. It was only supposed to be a temporary structure for the 1889 World’s Fair. It was much criticized and called an eyesore. Today, it is one of the most recognized man-made structures in the world.

Imagine being a 6 year old child and you don’t really know what a home is. If the Lydia House becomes a home to this child, the building now says something more powerful than we could imagine.
