I was influenced a lot by TV growing up. The Brady Bunch was one of my favorites. I liked the mod-house and convertible car. I’m trying to grasp for other reasons for why I became an architect, but I keep coming back to The Bradies.
What to one person is ugly, the next might find to be true beauty. I like the monumental buildings, the strong permanent structures — especially close-up. Then you can see that there are chips, cracks, age — an impermanence, even for something so seemingly solid. We are only in this place for a while – ultimately, we aren’t in control.

I like alleys and fairgrounds. They seem to always change, and evolve.
