Building on an idea for a permanent music venue that they felt Omaha was lacking, the two owners of Saddle Creek Records opened the 470-capacity rock club known as Slowdown. The new bar and music venue is part of the development designed by Alley Poyner Macchietto in North Downtown Omaha, that includes headquarters for Saddle Creek Records, Film Streams, Urban Outfitters, apartments and more. Slowdown features black tiled walls, shiny concrete floors, and a retractable wall separating the bar and stage, all creating an open, modern and industrial design feel. Located on 14th between Webster and Cumming, Slowdown opened in the summer of 2007. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
