Community Alliance provides much needed services for the chronically mentally ill in Omaha. In 1995, Alley Poyner Macchietto was selected to convert a 25,000 s.f. warehouse into offices and day program facility. Classrooms and offices for administration and day-worker staff were designed along the exterior walls, while large open spaces for meals and group activities were designed for the interior. Skylights were incorporated to bring natural light into those open areas. In 2003, Alley Poyner designed a 21,000 s.f. addition, providing additional office and meeting spaces for expanding programs. A new ramped front entry with canopy was applied, and a second story 'bridge' was created between the original building and the addition. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
