Supporting its community, the new 22,000 s.f. FHAS building provides a variety of spaces for community activities and services to the North Omaha area. A housing counseling agency, Family Housing Advisory Services seeks to increase homeownership opportunities. The facility includes offices for Family Housing, an interior sky-lit atrium, community café with catering kitchen, teaching kitchen for Metro Community College, a classroom for UNO, tenant rental spaces, exterior courtyard, passenger elevator, partial basement, and parking for 90 cars. In response to its site, the new building uses materials and proportions similar to those in the surrounding historic neighborhood, yet creates an urban corridor along 24th. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
