Alley Poyner Macchietto was selected to complete the 139,000 s.f. renovation and expansion of Allwine Hall for the Biology and Psychology departments. The new animal facilities for Biology, Microbiology and Psychobiology were consolidated into a single area that contains holding rooms and student observation rooms. The third floor was remodeled to upgrade classrooms and to create student gathering space. The new molecular biology teaching lab features state-of-the-art equipment and revamped classroom design, replicating a real-life lab setting with pods of long, octagonal benches that seat four students each. The lab boasts a variety of new equipment that's housed on the perimeter of the room. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
