The former 1950's Security Mutual Insurance Building was converted to Andersen Hall for the College of Journalism & Mass Communications at the University of Nebraska. The 32,000 s.f. project included a 120-seat lecture hall, classrooms, labs, darkrooms, 2 Television studios with control rooms and support space, faculty and administrative offices, Faculty Retreat and Library, conference rooms, and a distance learning education center. A concept of openness was designed for the three departments of Broadcasting, News/Editorial and Advertising, with classrooms and offices clustered around large open gathering spaces. Space was also designed for the University Radio Station and the University Newspaper. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
