The 8,600 s.f. renovation and 4,000 s.f. addition to this 1940's structure, the first building on Mid-Plains Community College's McCook campus, was designed to house a new Student Welcome Center, administrative Offices, 'virtual college' classrooms, monitored testing and tutoring space, a seminar room, an I.T. center, and a Campus Bookstore. The directive from the College was to respect the original building and add on in a sensitive fashion. Public spaces were treated as 'restoration space', while classrooms and administrative spaces reflect a more hi-tech character, consistent with the new technology. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
