livestock exchange Built in 1926 to serve as a type of town hall for the vast Omaha Stockyards, the Livestock Exchange building towered over a large area of cattle pens. It was the largest operation of its kind in the entire world during the 1950s, but by the end of the century, the buying and selling of cattle at this location was a very rare occurrence. The 209,000 s.f. historic renovation includes: commercial offices, conference facilities, six floors of affordable housing, an exercise facility and community room, a ballroom and stage, dining room, and a spacious entry lobby.
