Constructed in 1916 as a satellite assembly plant, the Ford Model T building renovation was a significant step in connecting Omaha's near North side to the ongoing revitalization of downtown. The 162,000 s.f. facility, a warehouse for most of the 20th Century, now houses TipTop loft apartments and InPlay entertainment complex. Alley Poyner Macchietto collaborated with NuStyle Development to take advantage of this historic, industrial structure and fill it with comfortable, functional living space. Apartments feature sliding partition doors, turf balconies, huge windows, and blackboard doors. The 25,000 s.f. addition includes a banquet hall and support spaces, with a parking garage below grade.
