The Air National Guard selected Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture to design a new 13,750 s.f. fire station, to be part of the new Air National Guard Base Master Plan. Despite square footage limitations and budget restrictions, the project team responded with a practical design that is sensitive to the existing base buildings, congruous with the other proposed projects and evocative of aeronautic imagery. The Fire Station includes an administrative area for offices and open office areas, classroom facilities, a kitchen, dining area, apparatus bay with control room, sleeping quarters with restroom, shower and locker rooms, an outdoor patio, and fitness room. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
