Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture was selected to design a new facility for the Siena House, a refuge for women and children, and the Francis House, a homeless shelter. Originally spread along three city blocks, the new building allows caregivers to centralize their services to a single building and enables them to efficiently serve those in need. The 21,000 s.f. Siena Francis House includes sleeping quarters for 160, living quarters to house a staff of 30, a dormitory for 80 permanent residents, a kitchen, waiting areas for meals, large dining room, bathroom facilities, a clinic, chapel, and meeting rooms. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
