In 2006, Bethany Lutheran Church of Elkhorn completed the expansion of their existing facility, built in 1994. The 45,000 s.f. addition more than doubled the current sanctuary seating to 1,100 and doubled the Christian education space. A new 7,000 s.f. Family Life Center with Youth rooms reflects the congregation's commitment to youth ministry. The 62,000 s.f. renovation and addition also included a fellowship hall and serving kitchen, a computer room, bookstore, Community Wellness Center, and new entry with a wrap-around narthex. An all-congregation "brainstorming" session led by Alley Poyner Macchietto staff began the Master Planning process, resulting in a final design that reflects the existing church's aesthetic. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
