Bethany Lutheran Church

To meet the expanding needs of the congregation and the community, Alley Poyner Macchietto first developed a Master Plan for Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church on 150th & Q Street. With over 38% of the congregation under age 18, the Master Plan capitalized on the youth of its membership. Three phases of the expansion were planned to expand the 18,000 s.f. facility to 64,000 s.f. In 2006, the addition of a new 700-seat sanctuary along with a new education wing, added 36,000 square feet. The renovation and addition also included a full-sized gymnasium, a 10,000 s.f. Christian Life Center, and Educational wing with classrooms for all ages, an Administration wing, and an expanded pre-school and new day-care facility.
