Alley Poyner Macchietto designed the new 9,000 s.f. addition and renovation for Trinity United Methodist Church in Ralston. To be completed in Spring 2008, the project includes a large commercial kitchen, classrooms, and multi-purpose space. The exterior of the church was designed to tie into the existing church and neighborhood, while creating an identifiable feature on the site. The entry tower and covered walk way give the church a clear presence on Q Street, and provide a covered transition space for an outdoor gathering area. Conservation issues such as energy efficiency and daylighting were addressed in design, and will reduce costs and create a healthier interior environment. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
