An Archaeological Dig Inside an Omaha Landmark

Omaha’s first skyscraper, Kutak Rock’s 1889 Omaha Building was the first major public building designed by McKim, Mead & White – a New York firm that went on to become world renowned for the design of public buildings. Most significantly, it was one of Omaha’s first exemplars of architectural historic preservation. The 11-story, 165,430 square foot renovation includes an atrium with new skywalks on each level, conference space, library, art gallery, fitness center, and lunch room.
