Weitz Investment Management Office

A Forward-Thinking Workplace Designed to Evolve Over Time

Weitz Investment Management partnered with Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture (APMA) to design a new office space on the 8th floor of Blackstone Plaza. Building on the insights gained from earlier test fits and design studies within Blackstone Tower, this project represents a thoughtful evolution, translating Weitz’s operational needs and cultural values into a refined workplace environment. The 12,500-square-foot tenant improvement project was envisioned as a high-functioning, future-ready space that supports both individual focus and team collaboration.

Intent

The intent behind the new office was to create a space that not only meets the functional demands of a financial investment firm but also reflects Weitz’s commitment to excellence, longevity, and employee well-being. The design was guided by a desire to foster a sense of place, where professionalism and comfort coexist, and where the environment actively supports productivity, connection, and growth. APMA’s approach emphasized clarity, cohesion, and adaptability, ensuring the space could evolve with the firm over time.

Process

The design process began with a deep understanding of Weitz’s goals, informed by prior engagements within Blackstone Tower. APMA conducted field verification and programming sessions with key stakeholders to establish a clear direction. Multiple layout options were explored to balance private offices with open work areas, and to integrate support spaces such as conference rooms, collaboration zones, a break room, and training rooms.

Impact

The completed office space is a testament to Weitz Investment Management’s forward-thinking approach and APMA’s commitment to design excellence. The environment supports a range of work styles, integrates technology seamlessly, and reflects the firm’s identity in subtle yet powerful ways. By building on prior experience within Blackstone Tower, the design team was able to deliver a space that feels both familiar and elevated, an office that empowers the Weitz team today and is ready to adapt for tomorrow.
