Read MoreThe original branch bank, located on 38th and Farnam Streets, was constructed as the flagship location in the early 1960s. It has remained the dedicated mid-town location ever since. After reviewing options for renovation, SNB chose to replace the existing facility. Although this was not the short-term cost-effective solution, the long-term benefits for community impact made it desirable. APMA looked to the surrounding neighborhood context for clues about the type of architectural language the building should embrace.

One unique aspect of the design process was the client’s aspiration to provide a meeting room space that would positively impact the immediate community. This space was envisioned as something that could be utilized by both SNB clients and local organizations and individuals, further integrating the bank into the surrounding neighborhood fabric and strengthening the relationship with the community.
The building is two distinct forms that are unified through the delicately detailed floating roof and colonnade that encapsulate both interior and exterior space below. An inviting entry court on Farnam Street is appropriate to the public presence and vibrant neighborhood the bank inhabits.
