Clio
Mediterranean Warmth is what Clio was designed around.
Clio’s design brings to life the essence of a Mediterranean countryside by the sea, beautifully complementing the international flavors of its menu. Flagship Restaurant Group, a long-time partner, brought in Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture’s for our interior design and architecture work that incorporated a Mediterranean muse that combines the subtle smokiness of wood fired warmth and the cozy feeling of sharing really good food with those you love most.
Located in Omaha’s Old Market, Clio offers patrons an immersive experience with its 4,000 square foot interior, which features vibrant cerulean blues on the ceiling, warm earth tones in terracotta-colored plaster walls, and rich wood furnishings. Suspended above the bottle glass green, curved center banquette seating is a foliage-covered trellis that gives a nod to the influence of biodiversity.

Intent
The dramatic, modern tilework paired with brass trimmings and ornamentation offer a historical context to the Mediterranean design. Arches, a design hallmark, are thoughtfully incorporated throughout, from the doorways to the mirrored back bar display shelving, and even the intricately patterned, back-lit niches on the north wall of the dining room.
The sustainable flooring choices, including terrazzo in the lounge and bar and oak in a chevron pattern in the dining space, further echo the Mediterranean landscape. A 400 square foot wraparound patio adds to Clio’s inviting ambiance, providing a perfect space for patrons to enjoy the food, the atmosphere, and the hand-curated wines from across the globe. Clio exudes comfort, history, and charm, encouraging guests to relax and savor every moment. This corner of the Old Market, a site of countless gatherings and memories over the years, is now poised to continue its legacy.
