In partnership with Assistology, APMA developed this design for a permit-ready accessory dwelling unit. Aging in place, sustainability, and adaptability defined the design and made the final product both beautiful and functional.
Conceived as an open-source set of housing prototypes, the Playbook is a resource that will help potential homeowners and small developers understand what is possible on the typically narrow lots in Omaha’s older neighborhoods.
From volunteering for some of our favorite non-profit organizations to pro-bono passion projects in the U.S. and abroad, we believe we have a responsibility to engage with the world around us. We seek to provide services that positively impact the disadvantaged whenever possible.
At APMA we love to nurture the next generation of designers, engineers, and creative thinkers by inviting them into our studio to see and talk about what we do. Encouraging youth from all backgrounds that STEM careers are within their reach is another way in which we like to build community.
Filling a number of critical needs gaps in North Omaha, we found that an APMA + Heart Ministry Center partnership was a natural fit for us.
Serving Omaha since 1977 we have been lucky to work with OneWorld as they’ve grown from their humble beginnings in South Omaha to locations throughout the Metro.
With over 10 projects completed with the Siena Francis house we are happy to support all they do in North Downtown and to call them our friends.
Co-Lab is a shared workspace in our downtown office that is home to tech companies, non-profits, and artists alike. It has infused our office with an added dose of creative energy and potential for unique partnerships.

We will do our part to contribute to a more equitable and inclusive environment through our work and investment in our community.
We're committed to the AIA's 2030 Challenge and to practicing sustainable design that is holistic and data-driven.
We've set a personal goal to reduce office waste to zero. From an extensive recycling program to composting to purchasing, we're taking steps to reduce our environmental footprint.
