Duchesne High School

Full STEAM Ahead

Duchesne Academy’s students and teachers had been actively pursuing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) based classes, but met some challenges by not having a dedicated space where they could collaborate, share ideas, and access the tools that would allow them to explore and create. The school enlisted the help of APMA to design a modern STEAM classroom that is state-of-the-art while being respectful of the school’s historic building. APMA facilitated visioning sessions with students and instructors to identify their desired uses for the space – what they wanted to make, what tools they needed, and how the architecture could support it. Concepts were developed and presented at follow-up meetings with students and teachers and were later used in the school’s fundraising efforts. Once the funds were secured, APMA completed the design and documentation of the space.
