Project Game ON: Building a Stronger Tomorrow for North Omaha
Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture (APMA) is proud to be a design partner in Project Game ON, a transformative initiative bringing new life to two cornerstone institutions in North Omaha: North High School and the Butler-Gast YMCA.
This community-driven project marks a long-awaited milestone, delivering a state-of-the-art stadium for North High and a modern, purpose-built YMCA facility designed to serve generations to come. With deep historical roots dating back to 1924 and 1951 respectively, both institutions have played pivotal roles in shaping the social and educational fabric of the neighborhood.

Intent
APMA’s design approach centers on people, place, and purpose, ensuring the new facilities reflect the legacy, pride, and aspirations of North Omaha. Early in the process, the team facilitated community outreach sessions that created space for neighborhood dialogue, local business engagement, and open Q&A, helping inform the project’s direction.
In collaboration with Omaha Public Schools, the YMCA of Greater Omaha, the City of Omaha, and philanthropic partners including the Lozier and Sherwood Foundations, APMA is helping create spaces that promote youth development, healthy living, and community connection.
Project Game ON is more than a construction effort, it’s a celebration of history, a commitment to equity, and a bold investment in the future of North Omaha.
