Southeast Community College

Path to Possible

APMA was selected to work with Southeast Community College (SCC) to re-imagine and reinvigorate their Student Services areas at the Lincoln Main Campus building, including Registration, Admissions, Student Development, Financial Aid, Tutoring, Campus Office, Campus Library, and many other departments. After numerous listening sessions and design workshops with SCC administration, faculty and staff, APMA provided an initial master plan for approximately 100,000 sf that included renovating a portion of the existing Main Campus building, and a new addition to accommodate growth and expansion. The design process included a programming effort that documented existing conditions and developed an understanding of short-term and long-term needs of these student-focused departments and administrative functions.

With student satisfaction and retention at the forefront of the design imperatives, the proposed new space will provide a setting that all students will feel welcome and comfortable in.

The refreshed space will create a vastly improved first impression of SCC and include a more welcoming front entry with intuitive wayfinding for prospective and current students, and various gathering spaces (including open lounge areas) to foster greater student and staff interaction and collaboration.
