Kutak Rock’s 1889 Omaha Building was Omaha’s very first skyscraper and, for many years, the city’s tallest building. It was one of Omaha’s first exemplars of architectural historic preservation. The imaginative vision and commitment exhibited by founding partner Robert Kutak when the firm renovated and first occupied the building in the 1970’s was both unconventional and daring. Fast forward to 2014, to accommodate Kutak’s need for increased office space and the relocation of certain departments, APMA’s interior design team reconfigured several floors to allow for additional attorney offices and an overall better flow and use of the space. In addition, the finishes of the recently remodeled space were updated to match current attorney floor finishes and layouts.

In 1997 the “Nesting Eagle” sculpture by Louis St. Gaudens was returned to its perch on the third floor, after being removed by Omaha National Bank when it took up residence in Woodman Tower in 1969.
Located on 17th and Farnam, the renovation included an atrium with new skywalks on each level, offices for various functions, conference space, a law library, public library, art gallery, fitness center, lunch room, support space, and records and storage space.
